Departure and bus transfer to Karatu. Karatu is a strategic location, as the region lies between the Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara to the south, making it the gateway to the major parks of the north. It’s a small, welcoming town, both for its warm ochre and adobe hues and for the hospitality of its residents. You can stroll through the local markets and pick up souvenirs such as small carved wooden ornaments or the brightly colored “kanga” fabrics worn by Tanzanian women.

Free day at the hotel. You can enjoy the facilities and services offered by this former colonial coffee farm: relax by the pool, take a stroll through the lush, flower-filled garden, or treat yourself to a relaxing massage (additional charge).

Drive to Arusha Airport, with a stop along the way at a local craft center and a tour of a coffee plantation (depending on the flight schedule), followed by a flight to Zanzibar.

Picnic dinner. Arrival in Zanzibar, baggage claim, and immediate transfer to your hotel. Known as the “Spice Island,” Zanzibar is a true haven of peace. Check in at your hotel on a half-board basis.

A beach vacation on the island where you can enjoy a paradise-like setting. A free day where you can relax on the white-sand beaches or take a stroll through the wilderness, where the scent of cloves fills the air.
