Arrive, transfer to your hotel and settle in. Dinner and overnight stay at the DELTA BY MARRIOTT 3* hotel (or similar).

SAN JOSÉ / IRAZU VOLCANO / CARTAGO / SAN JOSÉ

Breakfast.

Early departure for Volcan Irazú. Dinner in a local restaurant. Then a stop in Cartago, once the most important city until the independence of the Central American provinces in 1821.
Discover the Basilica of Nuestra Señora de los Angeles. Return to San José and stroll through the city center. Discover the “Museo y Mercadito Chieton Moren” community project and stop off at the market for a typical local drink.

SAN JOSÉ / SARAPIQUI / ARENAL (230KM/05H00)

Breakfast and departure for Arenal.

Visit a cassava plantation followed by a moment of sharing with the growers.

Typical dinner prepared by the family. Continuation to La Fortuna, dominated by the Arenal Volcano. Stop to observe iguanas. Arrival in La Fortuna and discovery of the village. Check-in at the hotel, then off to discover Costa Rican rural life with a visit to an organic garden in the company of local farmers.

Pick your own ingredients, then learn to cook a traditional meal in a convivial workshop, before sharing an authentic dinner in the heart of nature. Overnight at Hotel ECO ARENAL 3* (or similar)

ARENAL NATIONAL PARK

Breakfast.

Depart for a rainforest walk along a superb trail of suspension bridges in an unforgettable setting.

Dinner in a local restaurant. Explore the La Fortuna waterfall on a winding trail through tropical rainforest.

Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.

Excursion to Caño Negro + access to thermal springs

Explore the wildlife of the Caño Negro refuge as you cruise through its mangroves, have lunch on the excursion and end the day with a gentle dip in the natural hot springs at the foot of the Arenal volcano. Dinner at the thermal baths.

ARENAL / MALEKUS COMMUNITY / RINCON DE LA VIEJA (195KM/03H30)

Breakfast.

Depart for a privileged moment with the Malekus indigenous community, where you’ll discover their history and traditions. A short walk during which you can try your hand at archery.

Dinner in the community. Continuation to Rincon de la Vieja.

Check-in at your hotel and free afternoon.

RINCON DE LA VIEJA

Breakfast.

Departure for Rincon de la Vieja National Park to discover its volcanic features.

Dinner at the Guachipelin hacienda. Return to the hotel and afternoon free to enjoy at your own pace, take a walking tour from the hotel trails or one of the optional on-site activities such as horseback riding, a canopy tour or a unique spa experience in the heart of the gardens and nature.

RINCON DE LA VIEJA / MONTEVERDE (180KM/04H00)

Breakfast.

Departure for Monteverde. Discover the CASEM cooperative, which supports local artists, mostly women, by selling their unique handmade creations.

Lunch on site. Then, a guided tour of a coffee plantation to discover the different stages of production, followed by a tasting. Check-in at your hotel at the end of the day.

Supper in a local restaurant and overnight at hotel MONTANA MONTEVERDE 3* (or similar)

MONTEVERDE / TARCOLES (100KM/02H30)

Breakfast.

Spend the morning exploring the Monteverde cloud forest, a unique biodiversity sanctuary where mystical landscapes meet exceptional flora and fauna.

The lucky ones may catch a glimpse of the quetzal. Then on to Tarcoles.

Check-in at hotel and dinner. Sailing on the Rio Tarcoles to discover the crocodiles.

TARCOLES / MANUEL ANTONIO / TARCOLES (70KM/01H30)

Breakfast.

Departure for Manuel Antonio Park, where you’ll be immersed in a park combining forest and the clear, warm waters of the Pacific. Return to hotel, dinner.
