Naples

Participants arrive at Naples airport during the day and are welcomed by our local correspondent, who will accompany you throughout your stay in Italy.

SORRENTO

Lunch at the hotel.

Morning guided tour of Sorrento’s beautiful historic center (outdoors): Piazza Tasso, the elegant historic center, the church of San Francesco with its cloister, etc.

Dinner in a typical Sorrento restaurant.

Afternoon panoramic tour of the Sorrento peninsula, stopping at various viewpoints to enjoy panoramic views of the Gulf of Naples. Then stop at a farm to visit a lemon grove and taste ‘limoncello’, the famous lemon-based liqueur.

POMPEI and Les Pates

Lunch at your hotel.

Visit to a pasta factory in the famous village of Gragnano: general explanation and tour of the production area.

We’ll then visit one of the famous workshops where coral is transformed into cameos, jewelry and small sculptures.

Dinner in a restaurant during the excursion.

In the afternoon, departure for Pompeii for the entrance and guided tour of the excavations of this famous Roman city buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D.: the Forum, the Temple of Jupiter and Apollo, the Stabian Baths, the House of the Faun, the House of the Vetti etc. are among the most important monuments to visit. An ancient port city built at the foot of Mount Vesuvius, Pompeii was completely devastated on August 24, 79. In two days, Pompeii was buried under a layer of ash 6 to 7 m thick.

NAPLES

Lunch at your hotel.

A day dedicated to discovering Naples.

The city is characterized above all by its lively working-class districts in the historic center. A stroll will take us through the Spaccanapoli district: teeming with life, its narrow, straight streets, where the balconies, almost touching each other, are connected by fine ropes where the inhabitants dry their laundry. A dive into the lively center of the Parthenopean city.

Along the way, we’ll discover Baroque palaces and churches such as the Gesù Nuovo, as well as remarkable Gothic buildings such as St. Clare (exterior).

Dinner at a historic pizzeria with a menu based on real Neapolitan pizza.

Continuing with a visit to the main monuments (exteriors) of the monumental center: you’ll admire the avenue that runs alongside the sea, the little port of Santa Lucia and the Castle of the Egg… Then the Umberto I Gallery, the Royal Palace, the San Carlo Theater, Piazza del Plebiscito, Via Medina, Castel Nuovo, also known as Maschio Angioino…

AMALFI COAST

Lunch at your hotel.

A day dedicated to an excursion along the Amalfi Coast: you’ll take a boat from Salerno and admire one of Italy’s most beautiful coastlines from the sea, featuring magnificent landscapes, cliffs plunging into the sea, gorges, and more.
Stop in the historic center of Amalfi to visit its fascinating 11th-century Cathedral of St. Andrew.

Return by boat to the hotel on the coast of Pompeii for dinner and overnight stay.

CAPRI

Lunch at your hotel.

The day is dedicated to an excursion to the island of Capri.
Transfer by minibus from the hotel to the port of Sorrento and crossing by boat to the island. Guided tour of the island: with the help of local minibuses, you can discover the “island of the mermaids”, as Capri is known in Greek mythology. It rises out of a deep, mountainous sea, with cliffs carved by caves and inlets and surrounded by fantastically shaped rocks. The island is renowned, among other things, for the variety of its scenery and the richness of its buildings. Discover Marina Grande, with the ruins of the Palazzo a Mare, Emperor Augustus’ favorite residence, made up of several buildings scattered around the gardens; the Baths of Tiberius; the piazzetta…

PAESTUM and SALERNE

Lunch at the hotel.

Full-day excursion along the southern coast of the Campania region in the Salerno area, home to Paestum, a very important Greek archaeological site: Admission to the site and a guided tour of the ruins (the basilica, the Temple of Neptune, the Temple of Ceres) and the museum (metopes, the Diver’s Tomb, etc.).

In the afternoon, a stop in the historic center of Salerno for a self-guided tour of the historic center (exteriors), featuring its 1085 Norman-style Duomo and the picturesque Via dei Mercanti (Merchants’ Street).
